About the book-
Jack, handsome, dedicated lawyer, loving husband. Grace, elegant, consummate housewife, prisoner.
He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them but you do. You like to get to know Grace better. But it's difficult. Because you realize they are never apart. Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone or can't meet for lunch without Jack and why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.
Sometimes the perfect marriage is a perfect lie.
My rating- ★★★★☆
My review-
The story of a perfect couple, Grace and Jack Angel. Jack is a wealthy lawyer, fighting for the justice of battered women and has never lost a case. His wife Grace is a charming woman with impeccable mannerisms- she is perfection personified. She has a younger sister Millie who suffers from Down's syndrome and it's up to her to take care of her little sister. To the world and their friends Jack and Grace appear to be a perfect couple, always together, madly in love without any disagreement, not even a lovers' tiff. But is this the reality or just a facade.?
We start our journey to unravel the truth only to find the perfectly imperfect lives Jack and Grace lead. We go through the reasons behind their feigned perfection and several other dimensions of their character and relationship with each other and with family and friends.
A tale of schemes and plans, of psychological games, of punishments and inhuman torture, of the horror of an impending doom, of first hand experience with a psychopath and the desperate attempts of the victim to stay one step ahead of the sadistic abuser, it leave the reader with a bone chilling experience.
Once the facade is exposed the story has an average plot line and perhaps a predictable ending but the way it has been narrated to the last detail adds to the intensity that the story has to offer. Throughout the narration the readers are bound to feel the apprehension, the helplessness and the horrors that the characters go through.
Also one of the best parts is the character build up where our protagonist initially is portrayed as a weak, subdued and controlled helpless character but later emerges out to be a great schemer when time demanded.
By the end of the story we can very well understand what exactly has happened, though in the first few pages the author tries to divert our thinking to another direction, perhaps to another outcome, but the narration can be termed as oversimplified- which might be a negative trait for some people.
A simple yet gripping story with intense gruesome emotions.
This book is a definite recommendation to all the thriller lovers, I am sure that not only will you enjoy this read but will also be able to empathize with the characters.

Characters-
Jack Angel- a successful lawyer, a loving husband and a perfect schemer. He has his real identity well hidden from the world and it will remain hidden until you read the book.
Grace Angel- wife of Jack, a perfect housewife, so in love with her husband and has never so even disageed with her husband. Even she is a schemer, trying her best to keep the imperfections of their marriage from the scrutiny of the world.
Millie- Angel's sister, and whose entire responsibility is on her since Mille suffers from Down's syndrome and their parents couldn't come to terms with this fact. She perhaps play the most vital part in the story.
Other characters include Adam, Diane, Rufus and Esther all of whom are the couples' friends and are very much convinced of the perfection they portray except for Esther who turns out to be somewhat skeptical.
Writing style-
The narration is detailed to the last piece of information. Yes, sometimes some part of the information appears premature but at several places they are withheld till the curiosity peaks.
Its very intense, reflecting upon the reader what exactly is going on in the story. The reader can't help but imagine the peril the characters have to survive. A perfect mix of emotions and language.
