My review-

Volcanic moments or literally heart popping tales is a collection of twenty five short stories covering a variety of themes. Each story is a standalone expansing over around three pages each- each distinguished from the other- only similarity being the completely unexpected endings and the erriness that lurks behind every tale.

The stories talk about a variety of topics- mainly being ambitions, coveted love, betrayals, lost childhood, human sufferings, past demons, revenge, planning and scheming, killings, hatred and the like. Each story starts off very normally only to take a complete turn in the end.

The protagonists in each story are different but are similar in the evil turn they take in the end or the way in which life alters completely. The initial stories have really unexpected endings, somewhere in the middle the endings become predictable- the initial stories literally left me awed but the latter ones didn't appeal to me in the same way- just because of their predictability. Some stories are those which gives a blow in the face at the end and others just fall flat. The stories explores the negative human emotions and have been put down in words very beautifully however the author has not been able to maintain the curiosity throughout.

Writing style-

The writing is very simple- most stories have been able to keep the mystery intact- with a few exceptions of course. The narration is very appealing with just a few errors in proof reading.

Overall this book is not exactly one which keeps the readers on egde, however some of the individual stories are capable of leaving their mouths wide open. 

This book is a really good choice for those who like to read mystery/ thrillers but want them as short stories. The book can be read either in a single go or one story at a time. 

Reading individual stories is better because somewhere reading all of them as a whole makes a certain number of stories lose their lustre.

I would recommend it as a good experience for children specifically.
